07 / SPOT / EMS / OPTIMISATION
Prices move.
Your assets can respond.
We connect EMS, PLC or RTU logic to market and operating data. Price is one input—not the only one. Decisions also respect SoC, efficiency, grid limits, self-consumption and supervisory commands.
Discuss this serviceSERVICE SCOPE
The cheapest quarter-hour is not always the best command.
Useful optimisation accounts for the contracted price, losses, battery efficiency and degradation, forecasts and the plant’s technical priorities.
Market and price input
Connection to an appropriate market, trader or aggregator data source.
Operating optimisation
BESS charging and discharge, generation limits and flexible-load scheduling.
Priorities and guardrails
SoC, power, import and export limits, reserves and supervisory commands take priority.
Integration and verification
Historical simulation, logic tests, operating logs, manual override and response testing.
WHAT TO PREPARE
Inputs for a useful start.
- Contracted price formula or trading model
- Price-data source or trader / aggregator API
- BESS, solar, load and metering parameters
- Grid limits, command priorities and operating constraints
WHAT WE DELIVER
An output you can use.
A functional specification for price-led control, interfaces, limits and a verification record.
GridCoda provides technical control and integration, not electricity trading or aggregation by default. Savings and revenues depend on prices, contracts, charges and actual operation and are not guaranteed.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
Questions we are
often asked.
Do you control assets directly from public market prices?
We can use market data, but the decisive input is the customer’s real contracted price formula, including fees and margins.
What does the system do during negative prices?
The strategy may charge the battery, shift demand or limit export, always within technical and contractual constraints.
What happens when price data is unavailable?
A defined fallback applies: for example a time-limited last valid plan, a neutral safe mode or local-limit control without price optimisation.
