Protect valuable self-consumption, evaluate export separately, use storage only within its real limits and keep technical protections above economic logic.
Read the contract before writing the rule
The public market price, the export remuneration and the final economic effect may be three different numbers. The strategy must use the price formula that applies to the site.
Time resolution and sign conventions must be tested end to end so that a negative input cannot trigger the opposite action.
Do not curtail valuable self-consumption
Where solar is covering simultaneous on-site demand, it may be better to limit export rather than stop the entire plant. That requires reliable metering at the point of connection.
The commissioning test should verify the actual power flow and the defined response to metering loss.
A battery is an option, not an infinite sink
Charging is useful only while SoC, PCS power, losses, degradation and expected later use support it. A full or reserved battery cannot absorb every surplus.
Flexible demand has its own deadlines and process limits; energy optimisation must never interrupt critical production.
