How to prepare a power-generating module for RfG testing

The measurement date is not the first step. A defined scope, controlled documents and clear responsibilities prevent repeat visits and inconclusive results.

THE ESSENTIAL POINT

Confirm the module category and connection conditions, assemble one controlled set of documents, align the test plan and verify the signal chain before the test date.

There is no universal test package

The required evidence depends on the module, system-operator rules and project documentation. The same list cannot be assumed for every solar plant, generator or storage combination.

At the opening review we identify which tests and existing certificates are relevant to the actual configuration.

Prepare one current document set

Useful inputs include the connection agreement, single-line diagram, equipment parameters, certificates, protection settings, data maps and command lists.

Documents should carry revisions and firmware versions so the evidence can be compared with the plant on site.

Verify the chain from command to measurement

Before the agreed date, check value reading, power signs, units, time synchronisation and the real plant response—not only a number changing in SCADA.

Define who may change settings, who operates the plant and how the approved state will be restored after testing.
